Kathryn Cloward is a storyteller. She has earned recognition as a bestselling author and an award-winning songwriter, performer, producer, and director. A prolific writer and creator, Kathryn has 30 published books and over 400 published songs and music videos in her Kathryn Cloward and Kathryn the Grape catalogs.
Known as "Kathryn the Grape" to children, she brought her childhood nickname to life in a media series to provide children with social-emotional character development tools through entertaining and educational books, songs, videos, and concerts.
Kathryn is the founder of Kandon® Unlimited, Inc., a heart-centered mindful media production and publishing company. Throughout her career spanning over two decades of entrepreneurial company ownership, Kathryn has been recognized for leadership and mentorship with honors that include the Women in Leadership Award, Women Changing the World Award, Woman of Distinction Arts Award, and over 60 Family-Friendly Media Awards. Kathryn is also a Voting Member of the Recording Academy and has been a GRAMMY Awards® balloted artist multiple times.
Through the company's charitable giving arm of Kandon Cares, Kathryn has written, produced, and published impact songs for national organizations supporting children braving cancer, rare disease awareness, and teen refugees. She's headlined multiple benefit concerts that support children and families in need, and her company has donated over 2000 books to youth literacy organizations.
In 2019, Kathryn was personally asked to write a book for Father Joe, one of San Diego's most impactful and humble heroes who dedicated decades to helping unhoused individuals and families in need. She spent two years of her life in service to writing and publishing his "Father Joe: Life Stories of a Hustler Priest" (April 2021) memoir before his July 2021 passing. She also created "Father Joe's Six Golden Seeds" children's book and song to share his unifying and inspirational life story with youth and directs 100% of the proceeds help children in need.
In February 2024, Kathryn released her first poetry, "The Spirit of a Bear." In May 2025, she will release her sixth Kathryn Cloward studio album with 10 songs called, "Lighthouse."
